Stud Sire details
Risk Taker is bred by EP Cambridge from their ‘Royal’ lines. He is the product of a successful embryo transfer programme.
His dams side delivers champion after champion with his dam EP Cambridge Illustrious being crowned Adult Champion female at the 2007 Nationals and his aunty EP Cambridge Sculptress was the Junior Champion Female at The Nationals in 2004. Illustrious and Sculptress are by the same mother in Martana who is still breeding show quality offspring today. Also on Risktaker’s dam side is none other than Ruffo, a male that changed the quality and standards of breeding alpacas for many years following his importation to Australia by EP cambridge in 1994, now deceased but his genetics run through many champion lines not only in Australia but throughout Europe as well.
Risk Taker’s sire is EP Cambridge The Edge whose pedgiree is one to envy, featuring Commisario as his sire, Conquistador grand sire and Ruffo as his great grand sire. This is a wonderful blend of genetics.
Risk Taker is a stunning upstanding male with exceptional substance of bone and balance. He has fleece dripping off him from head to toe and when you part his fleece you a welcomed with a very advanced high frequency crimp style from skin to tip. This crimp continues right down the leg and into his belly area, also running up through the neck. He has a very low ratio of primary fibres that are in themselves extremely fine. The handle of his fleece is luxuriously soft, what more could one ask for?
Risk Taker was awarded champion for his age at the Bendigo Sheep and Wool in 2010.
